A guide to the Network analysis section

How does the Network Analysis reporting section work and what can I do there?

Network Analysis is a section of the 7bridges platform containing all the key reports on your supply chain. Your data in the 7bridges platform is transformed into key metrics, various charts and detailed tables to give you a clear view on your supply chain.

🗣️ Please note, the Network analysis section displays all data by the "ship date" unlike the data manager section which displays information by invoice date.

Network Analysis is divided into a number of sections:

1. Overview

Here you get an overall summary of your whole supply chain. Key metrics include:

  • Spend net total
  • Average shipment costs
  • Average costs per weight UOM*
  • Total emissions**
  • Shipments sent
  • Shipments on time
  • Provider performance
  • Top 3 lanes by spend
  • Average shipment weight per UOM*

🔎 There are also links to view deeper analysis within the other sections.

*Weight UOM can be switched easily between kg and lb
**Emissions is an optional subscription

2. Spend

Examine your spend both generally and specifically by charge types. You can also see spend trends across your shipment lanes as well as exploring your most expensive shipments.

Filters marked with a * are persistent across all Network Analysis pages where this filter appears. If you set one of these filters it will be remembered as you navigate around the platform; until you remove the filter.

Currency conversion

You can choose the currency for any cost values using the option near the top right corner;

Weight units selection

You can adjust the weight units for the different reports. Users can choose between kg (kilograms) and lb (pounds):

Detailed hover

Many charges also allow you to hover over the applicable data point to see the exact amount. The following test data example displays the average shipment weight (lb) in OCT 2024:

Separating Freight and Parcel shipments

We’ve added a switcher between Parcel and Freight for many of the dashboards in Network Analysis. Simply select your preferred set of data just above the filter tray to adjust the dashboard. There is also an option for 'All' transport modes in case you want to see a combined view:

For freight shipments, Network Analysis uses ports as the origin and destination. Shipment legs are based on port names, which come from the original invoice and/or shipment data. If the Logistics Service Provider (LSP) supplies this information, it will be visible in Network Analysis. Otherwise, it will currently show as "N/A".

Downloadable reports

Many of the charts and tables also allow you the option to download. You can download a CSV file of the data or grab an image of the chart. Simply click the small 'i' icon ion the top right corner of a chart panel:

We are continually working on these reports and want to deliver the best possible experience for our customers. If you have any feedback or requests, please send them to
