What does my UPS booking error message mean?
Common booking error messages, what they mean and how to resolve them.
UPS error messages
The Shipper's shipper number cannot be used for this shipment
HTTPSConnectionPool(host='api-eu.pusher.com', port=443): Read timed out (readtimeout=5)
Invalid or missing sold to phone number. Valid length is 1 to 15 alphanumeric
The CoD option cannot be combined with the return services option
UPS: The UserID is currently locked out. Please try again in 30 minutes
👉 Note: UPS will only discuss account-specific configuration with the account holder; therefore 7bridges Support cannot contact UPS on your behalf regarding account-specific issues.
The Shipper's shipper number cannot be used for this shipment
This error usually indicates that the selected UPS account cannot be used for the shipment.
What to do:
Contact your UPS account manager to confirm that the account is correctly configured and can be used for the shipment.
The country associated with Shipper's ShipperNumber must be the same as the shipment's Shipper's country
This error means that the selected UPS account is not configured to ship from the origin country.
What to do:
Contact your UPS account manager to confirm that the account is enabled to ship from the selected origin country.
HTTPSConnectionPool(host='api-eu.pusher.com', port=443): Read timed out (readtimeout=5)
This error indicates that the booking request has timed out before a response was received.
What to do:
Wait a short while and try booking the shipment again.
If the error continues, contact 7bridges Support for assistance.
The Sold To party's country code must be the same as the Ship To party's country code with the exception of Canada and satellite countries
This error means that UPS has rejected the shipment because the Sold To country does not meet the requirements for the Ship To country.
What to do:
Check that the buyer/importer information provided for the shipment is correct and that the Sold To and Ship To country information meets the UPS requirements shown in the error.
The API value takes precedence; therefore, the Sold To details must be corrected in the API request.
If the information supplied is correct but the error continues, contact 7bridges Support for assistance.
👉 Note: The issue will not be resolved by updating the recipient details directly in the 7bridges software as this will not update the Sold To value.
Invalid or missing sold to phone number. Valid length is 1 to 15 alphanumeric
This error means that UPS has rejected the shipment because the Sold To phone number is missing or does not meet the required format or length.
What to do:
Check that the buyer/importer information provided for the shipment contains a Sold To phone number that meets the UPS requirements shown in the error.
The API value takes precedence; therefore, the Sold To details must be corrected in the API request.
If the information supplied is correct but the error continues, contact 7bridges Support for assistance.
👉 Note: The issue will not be resolved by updating the recipient contact details directly in the 7bridges software as this will not update the Sold To value.
The CoD option cannot be combined with the return services option
This error means that UPS does not allow a return service to be combined with a Cash on Delivery (CoD) outbound shipment in a single API call.
What to do:
If UPS is being selected automatically through your fulfilment rules and/or the shipment auto-select feature, contact 7bridges Support to review your existing fulfilment rules.
UPS: The UserID is currently locked out. Please try again in 30 minutes
This error means that the UPS UserID has been temporarily locked.
What to do:
Wait for the period specified in the UPS error message before trying to book the shipment again.
If the error continues, contact 7bridges Support so that the UPS account configuration and API version can be checked.
