Streamlined shipment booking automation via API

We're excited to announce a game-changing feature that takes shipment automation to the next level - the ability for customers to pack shipments via API, enhancing the efficiency of our automation layer.

This innovation is a boon for high and medium throughput warehouses looking to maintain their existing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and interface for packing, bringing about faster shipping processes and smoother workflows.

What's new?

Customers can now determine the contents of each package using their own packing systems within their WMS and transmit this data to us via API. This enables them to receive quotes, generate export declarations, and book shipments through our interface.

Why did we develop this?

The motivation behind this enhancement was to provide flexibility to our customers, allowing them to continue using their preferred packing systems seamlessly. This reduces the need for extensive change management and accelerates the entire shipping process. Consequently, more orders can flow through our system, amplifying the automation and optimisation of supply chains in the third layer of our solution.

How it works:

Customers create orders and movement demands as usual.
The create-shipment! API is called to generate a shipment in our platform.
Customers then communicate the items and their respective packaging details to us via API.
The picker/packer follows the regular portal entry process, moving seamlessly to the next booking step.

Even in cross-border shipments with insufficient product data, users are guided back to the packing step for product information input, ensuring a complete and accurate booking process.
