How is delivery performance measured?

There are delivery performance reports in the Network Analysis section but how is this calculated?

You can view the delivery performance of your providers in the 7bridges software. This is calculated using data from a number of places.

  1. For Optimise customers, the data related to a shipment is received into the 7bridges software in the form of text delimited data files (CSV, tab delimited etc). 1 file per invoice is currently supported for all customers. Data spread across multiple files is in BETA and available as an opt-in for all customers.
  2. This shipment data can then be augmented with the confirmed ship and delivery dates using live tracking.
    1. Note: the software uses the date of first delivery attempt as the delivery date when analysing performance.
  3. Not all providers support live tracking, so in this case the ship date and delivery date from the text delimited data file(s) are used.
  4. There is also reference transit time data in the 7bridges platform that is used to generate an expected delivery time in days for shipments.
  5. The performance reports in Network Analysis then use this expected delivery time to compare to the actual delivery time and give you on-time metrics.
