Yes, for certain providers (carriers). But this can be so varied that it's good to follow some best practice to avoid delays or issues when booking shipments; including certain fields being truncated.
Company and name fields in addresses: we advise a 35 character limit
For the rest of the fields, we recommend that you try to limit it within 30 characters; although it is safer to go for a 20 character limit.
